There are times when you might move home or when you might have errors in the Aadhaar card you received. In such a case, we need to request the correction or the updates for the Aadhaar card. While most of the corrections can be made online, there are still some corrections that need to be done via the offline route. The only thing you need to make the correction is the right documentation.
In addition to this, once the correction has been made, the Aadhaar card is regenerated and you can download the same from the UIDAI portal. Do you know it is also possible to check the status of the update request via UIDAI Portal? Well, below is the process to check the correction/update status of the Aadhaar card.
Steps to Check Aadhaar Card Correction / Update Status
To check the process, you need to visit the UIDAI portal. You can visit the portal by following the link – https://resident.uidai.gov.in/. The link will provide you with all the services in relation to the Aadhaar card.
On the homepage, you will notice a section for Update Aadhaar Details. Under the section, click on Check Status – Updation Done Online. You can click on the link to proceed to the next step. If you are not able to find the link then you can follow https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status
On this page, you need to enter the Aadhaar Number, URN or SRN Number. Once you have entered these details, you can then enter the verification code and click on submit button. The Aadhaar card status will now be displayed on your screen.
It should be noted that the Aadhaar number remains the same after the Updation or Correction hence you do not need to worry about that. You can obtain the printout of the updated Aadhaar to use it like the regular Aadhaar card.
